David Dill

David was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. His love for rivers and water started at a young age when he learned to canoe on rivers in Appalachia. After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Public Affairs, David went east to foster his love for whitewater. He started river guiding in the spring of 1991 on the New and Gauley Rivers in West Virginia. Later the same year David learned to kayak which has became a lifelong passion and has taken him to many rivers around the world. Since 1991, David has been a dedicated and talented river guide working as a paddle captain and safety kayaker in Colorado on Gore Canyon, Clear Creek, the Eagle and the Arkansas as well as in West Virginia. He first came to Grand Canyon in 1996, his love of the place brought him back and he started working full-time in 2002. If he has his choice of craft it would be either the paddle boat or kayak. When he is not in Grand Canyon you’ll probably find David in his kayak somewhere or working on his dream home along the Arkansas River in Colorado. During the winter months David is a ski patroller and Snowcat guide in Keystone, Colorado.
