Can I Use Soap or Shampoo?
- Soap and shampoo may be used in the Colorado River
- Soap and shampoo may NOT be used in side streams or creeks
- Environmentally friendly (biodegradable) soap is recommended, though not required
Protecting the delicate side canyon ecosystems is an important part of responsible river travel.
Are Solar Showers Allowed?
No — solar showers are not practical for use on the river and should be left at home. Most guests find a quick rinse in the Colorado River to be refreshing and sufficient.
